Landon Donovan & Other Soccer Reaction Tweets

The biggest bit of news in recent day involving the U.S. Men’s National Team is the feelings of Landon Donovan.  He is probably leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy and the U.S. Soccer Federation is not planning on him being a part of the training camps this month or in February.  Perhaps he is done with soccer.  Regardless of your opinion whether he has earned the right to bow out, this information has sparked a lot of chatter.  Eric Wynalda spoke with ExtraTime Radio earlier in the week saying that Donovan has had perhaps the most pressure of any U.S. soccer player.   Others have said the team still needs him to succeed with no clear replacement in the wings.  What are the fans saying via social media regarding this topic and others?

It is a mixed bag on Donovan.

A couple of those tweets referred to Grant Wahl, an esteemed soccer journalist and Fox Soccer contributor, that had tweeted the news about the USSF planning camps without Donovan.

In other news, the MLS playoffs began last night with Houston dominating most of the match against Chicago.  So twitter has been filled with MLS discussion of all sorts, including a thought about Houston’s coach.
