USA Vs Russia: Tweet Reaction

As you may imagine the topic of the day on social media after Jurgen Klinsmann released the roster for Wednesday’s friendly was Timmy Chandler.  Although Jozy Altidore and Juan Agudelo were recalled and many youngsters were added, Chandler’s waffling on his international commitment has left many skeptical.  Chandler shared some convincing words regarding his allegiance to the National Team.

I understand that a lot of people in the USA may be unsure.  All I can say is that I am clear in my head about the commitment moving forward. This was about me being ready to accept the responsibility of being a part of the national team and everything that goes with it, and now I am ready. I hope I will get chances in the future. I am in 1,000 percent.

Actions speak louder than words so his play at right back could erase all doubt.  For now, here is what people are saying.

Mr. Brown may be right, but I am sure Chandler has gotten wind of the criticism he is receiving from fans.  Do you think any of the other players would tell him what

people are saying?  I doubt it.  Not under Klinsmann’s watch.

The young players that were part of the under achieving under-23 team last summer are getting some attention.  Josh Gatt may be leading the back, and although injuries have kept him out of the Olympic camp and one other National Team camp, he is the leader of a true second team that Klinsmann has felt necessary for Gold Cup matches.

There does not seem to be a lot of discussion around players that were not called in.  Some of those players just finished up a long Major League Soccer season or have issues with their club that needed sorted out.  The roster has seemed to bring cautious optimism to U.S. fans.  Of course, there are always a few concerns.

He said it, not me.  What do you think of the roster?
