Late yesterday it looked like the transfer of Brek Shea to Stoke City was off but the two teams continued to talk. Today Stoke’s manager, Tony Pulis, confirmed that Shea will be doing a one week training with the Potters as a condition of the transfer. If all goes well, it looks like Shea will move to the Premier League for an approximate fee of £2.2m. Shea is coming off an injury and has been rehabbing. He may have worn out his welcome in Dallas with coach Schellas Hyndman so a move could be wise for all parties.
Stoke are in desperate need of offense as the side fell 3-1 to Swansea today. All goals came in the second half but Stoke looked sluggish from the onset. Geoff Cameron played the full match for Stoke who are now in 10th place in the table, four points back of the Swans. Shea is versatile and could add some more options in the attack but will have to prove his worth over the likes of Michael Owen, today’s scorer for City, and Mathew Etherington.
