The Barclays Premier League takes the weekend off to allow for fourth and fifth round fixtures in the FA Cup. Tim Howard and Everton are in the fifth round with a match against Oldham Athletic after they beat Liverpool. Oldham is still in the relegation zone in League one while Everton is coming off a league loss to Manchester United. A full Premier League schedule returns next weekend.
Of note in the Championship, Stuart Holden could return to the top team for Bolton as they take on Nottingham Forest. Tim Ream is expected to start.
In Mexico, Tijuana looks to get back to its winning ways this evening as they take on Chiapas. The two clubs are separated by 11 points after just six games. Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo should feature for Tijuana.
League leaders Tigres and Jose Torres take on Santos Laguna. Herculez Gomez should start up top for Santos again as they look to narrow the gap and give UANL their first loss.
DaMarcus Beasley comes off a two goal game to lead Puebla against Guadalajara. Michael Orozco Fiscal has been rotating between defense and midfield for Puebla. His team leads the league with 80 shots this season.
In Germany, Michael Parkhurst and Augsburg take on Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen is coming off a midweek loss to Benfica in Europa League play and are trying to fend off Eintracht Frankfürt to stay in the top three. Augsburg is still in next to last place with Parkhurst making his debut last week in a draw.
Jermaine Jones and Schalke are looking to end a win draught against Mainz. Shawn Parker was given a red last week for Mainz, who hold the last Europa League spot in the table on goal differential.
Timmy Chandler and Nürnberg play on Sunday against Hannover. Hoffenheim with Danny Williams and Fabian Johnson also play on Sunday against Stuttgart. Hoffenheim are still in the relegation playoff spot.
Jozy Altidore and Aron Jóhannsson of AZ Alkmaar take on Roda.
In league action already completed, Sacha Kljestan recorded an assist for Anderlecht. They beat Charleroi 2-0. Kljestan played 76 minutes.
