A Mexican website is reporting that Jurgen Klinsmann has called in Puebla defender Michael Orozco Fiscal to replace Jermaine Jones. Periodicodigital is reporting that the player that scored the winning goal at Azteca will join the team last minute even though no one was scheduled to be called in. There was no note of this at any of today’s media availability. Orozco Fiscal played in a reserve match for Puebla on Saturday and will only have a two hour drive to join the squad and teammate DaMarcus Beasley.
If the report is true, this may be a bit of head games by Klinsmann to bring in the player that scored the magical goal. The international window makes it easier to call in another player. Stay tuned to see if the reports are true.
Editor’s Note: This is now confirmed.
#USMNT Michael Orozco Fiscal has been added to the U.S. roster. Now 24 players in camp.
