Is Robbie Rogers ready to resume his MLS career?

Robbie Rogers, as revealed by the LA Galaxy, was a “special guest” during their training on Tuesday. If you don’t remember, Rogers left soccer because in order to disclose that he was gay, he felt that he had to retire from the sport even though he’s only 25 years old.

I for one think that it’s great that Robbie may change his mind about being an open gay man and still playing for a professional sports team here in the US. While NBA player Jason Collins is still looking to play in the NBA next season, the fact of the matter is that he is towards the end of his career. Robbie on the other hand, still has many years of playing left. Don’t get me wrong, what Jason has done is great but I think the possibility of having several more years of playing will have an impact to welcome other athletes to share that they’re gay much earlier in their career.

Here’s to hoping that he will resume his career.
