The 2014 MLS season is already 13 weeks along. With all the hype of the World Cup and MLS All-Star game coming-up soon, another topic must be thought about, the MLS Rookie of the Year.
Through 13 weeks, two candidates have positioned themselves nicely as the front runners for the award. New England Revolution forward Patrick Mullins is playing fantastic soccer and Chicago Fire forward Harry Shipp is also making a name for himself.
Here is the breakdown of how Mullins’ season has gone as the league enters into week 13.
|Patrick Mullins 2014/15 STATISTICS|
Mullins has brought a massive spark to the Revolution attack, making the choice of him as rookie of the year very obvious. What must be remembered though, is that Mullins is not the only player having a great season.
Here is the breakdown of how Shipp’s season has gone as the league enters into week 13.
|Harry Shipp 2014/15 STATISTICS|
Shipp has played in more games then Mullins this season, but has two less goals. What is impressive for Shipp though, is that his three goals all came in the same game, which is incredibly impressive on all accounts.
Each player brings a lot to the table and has been a main focus of their respective team’s offense this season. With plenty to be played still this season, make sure to watch each player exceptionally close.
