MLS Fantasy Soccer Manager: Week 14 Tips

Week 14 in MLS Fantasy Soccer Manager gets underway tonight, do you have your squad in-order?

If you are like me, you probably forgot about the early week and now are trying to figure out which transfers to make and what teams will help you make the most points. Have no fear, because that is what this article is for. Here are some tips for you to succeed in week 14 of MLS Fantasy Soccer Manager.

Tip 1: The Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Colorado Rapids all play two matches this week.

Each club is different in week 14, especially the Crew. Columbus plays Real Salt Lake and DC United, two of the top teams in the Eastern and Western conferences. With the current struggles of Crew, the risk is high if you were to select players from this club. For the Fire, their week is far from easy as well. Their first match-up is against Colorado, but their second is against the red-hot Seattle Sounders. Starting Sean Johnson in-goal could go very well, or his defense could fail and you may end-up with negative points. Either way, you will want to avoid using Johnson as one of your players. Colorado has the “easiest” of the three schedules in week 14. The club faces the Fire first, then moves on to face the struggling squad of FC Dallas. If you wanted to pick players to have a good week, start drafting Rapids players.

Tip 2: Get Fabian Espindola on your team…now!

The DC United forward leads MLS Fantasy in points scored with 89 total points. He is a must have for your squad, especially with United finally finding their form. So far in 2014, Espindola has seven goals and five assists. Here is just a little proof of what he is capable of doing.

Tip 3: Landon Donovan has found his form.

Remember last week when I said to not bother with Donovan? Yeah that was my bad…Donovan is playing fantastic soccer right now and is not slowing down one bit. His addition to your squad is strongly encouraged.

Tip 4: Seattle Does Not Miss Clint Dempsey.

When Clint Dempsey left for the World Cup, Sounders fans expressed concern that the club might fall in the standings. For anyone that is following the league, you know that is far from the case. Seattle has found refuge in Obafemi Martins and Lamar Neagle. Martins cannot stop scoring insane goals, while Neagle keeps playing as a consistent force in the midfield. Both player would boost your MLS Fantasy squad, if not you could get burned by another player who does have both players.
