Match Recap: Paris Saint-Germain defeats Bastia 2-0

Paris Saint-Germain kicked off their home campaign with a 2-0 win against Bastia today at the Parc des Princes. In the last eight meetings of the two teams, the Parisians were victorious each time and today was nothing different.

In the 7 minute, Zlatan Ibrahomivoc went down holding his hip. The striker was able to continue for 9 minutes but could not continue and handed his captain armband over to Thiago Motta where he was replaced by Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Lucas of Paris Saint-Germain opened up scoring with a wonderful cross from Gregory Van der wiel to put the Parisian’s up 1-0.

The second half started with a change from PSG, Gregory Van der Wiel was replaced by new signing Serge Aurier.

Same as the second half, the Parisians started off with full control of the midfield. In the 53 minute another chance for PSG as Lucas gets the ball and is in a one on one situation with Bastia GK Alphonse Areloa. But he put the ball wide and the chance was missed.

Shortly after Edison Cavani struck the ball in with a free kick taken by Marco Verratti. Verratti passed the ball to the Uruguayan international who shot the ball into the corner of the net, scoring the game-winner and putting the Parisian’s up 2-0.
