The 2014 Major League Soccer season is fully in-swing.

With many team’s fighting for playoff spots, several others look to keep up their already “secured” spot in the playoffs.

Now it certainly is obvious, baring an act of God, that team’s like, the Montreal Impact, Chivas USA, Chicago Fire and San Jose Earthquakes will miss the playoffs. Not saying that a revival could occur, but honestly, at this point in the season, these four teams need to start thinking about next year.

Many fans had high hopes for Chicago this season, but when injuries occur and crucial games are not won, it really hurts a club in the long run. Not even the incredible play of Harrison Shipp could keep the Fire from going out in Chicago.

Aside from the four teams listed above, there are four others who will not make the playoffs. No, not Sporting Kansas City of the Seattle Sounders, but other team’s currently in or on the bubble.

Whether or not you agree with our picks is up to you. That is the beauty of sites like Playing For 90, you can comment on the article and tell us why or why not your team, or another team should, or should not, make the playoffs.
