Playing for 90 Announces Three New Columns

facebooktwitterreddit

Playing for 90 is a general Fansided soccer site. The site’s goal is to provide updated stories, analysis, and opinion about a myriad of soccer news around the nation and the world. While we focus on more often on certain leagues (MLS and EPL), we do our best to provide more coverage to other leagues like Ligue 1 and La Liga.

More from Editorials

While Playing for 90 is a general soccer site, the editors – Phil Naegely and Baxter Colburn- along with writer Chris Blakely decided it would be smart to play to our strengths and focus specifically on three MLS teams we follow faithfully.

As a result of this passion and faithfulness, three new columns were born – Doop Nation, Red, White and Green, and last but not least Revs Report. Below we break down each individual column below.

  • Doop Nation is all about the Philadelphia Union and their affiliates, Harrisburg City Islanders (USL-PRO) and Reading United (USL-PDL), respectively. In this column, we dive into Union specific column and break it down and analyze what exactly is going on.

These posts are written by co-editor Phil Naegely who gives you inside track with the latest Union news in each edition. In his first piece, he looked at the Union’s current situation and what needed to be done to make the playoffs.

For all your latest Union news, make sure you stay tuned for the next edition of Doop Nation.

  • Red, White, and Green? Don’t you mean Red, White, and Blue for America.

No. Red, White, and Green got its name because of the three MLS teams in Cascadia – Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps, and the Seattle Sounders. The Timbers play in “Rose City” and most of the time wear red uniforms. Vancouver dons White jerseys, while Seattle is known as “Emerald City” and primarily wears Rave Green.

In each edition Chris Blakely takes a look at something that pertains to one of the Cascadian teams in MLS. Check out the growing number of Red, White, and Green pieces already and let us know what you think below.
