  • It took the Sounders almost five full years before they signed their first ever homegrown player. In the last two years alone, they have signed four more. That brings their total to five homegrown players in the clubs seven years of existence. Darwin Jones‘ name has been added to that list. Take a look here.

Former Sounder Patrick Ianni decided to call it quits after nine years in MLS with three different teams. His longest stint with any one team was with the Sounders from 2009-2013.

Two days prior to the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, the Sounders have finally added some depth to their goalkeeper position. They signed former DC United, Portland Timbers and Montreal Impact goalkeeper Troy Perkins on Tuesday. He will add much needed depth and experience to a demanding position. Take a look here.

  • The Timbers have been busy signing a few players this past week. They have finally come to an agreement on a contract with forward Gaston Fernandez. The 31 year-old will be returning for his second season with the club. The Timber website has all of the details here. Personally, I think it is a good move for the club and Gaston.

The Timbers finally made it official that center back Liam Ridgewell will be headed to Wigan on a short loan. He is expected back prior to the 2015 Simple Invitational on Feb. 22. Timbersfc.com has all the details.

Another player that the Timbers have signed is Dairon Asprilla. He is young, just 22, and can play winger or forward. Just what the Timbers need, more speed and youth.
