The Gunners sit 13 points out of first place and have plenty of matches left to claim one of the top spots in the EPL. Unless all hell breaks loose, it truly seems that Chelsea or Man City will take the top spot. However, after today’s embarrassing lose to Arsenal, City proved how human their team is this season.

After Santi Carzola tallied the games first goal in the 24th minute on a penalty kick, Arsenal set themselves up for success. The final nail in the coffin came in the 65th minute when Frenchmen, Oliver Giroud tallied the second goal of the match.

Now that Arsenal proved they’re capable of beating one of the top clubs in the EPL, it raises a lot of questions about just how good the rest of the top four actually are. Southampton certainly surprised everyone with how terrific their form is this season.

The next four games in EPL action for The Gunners pit them against Aston Villa, who have not won any games over their past five league matches. Tottenham, who sit just two points behind Arsenal. Last place Leicester City, who have won two of their past five league matches and finish against Crystal Palace. Palace have won their last two EPL games and look to avoid the drop zone.

Arsenal have luck on their side over the next four games. Spurs look to be Arsenal’s biggest challenge, which having both clubs from London always makes for terrific soccer. If Arsenal want’s to make their run to the top of the league, snatching a minimum of nine points from these next four matches is crucial. Spurs are beatable and Arsenal continue to heat up.

Over the past five league matches, Arsenal have claimed 12 of 15 total points available. That loss though, came at the hands of third ranked Southampton, who shut them out, 2-0. Arsenal have outscored their past two EPL opponents 5-0. Both offense and defense continue to improve as the season continues to move along.

Arsenal much make it a high priority to grab points over the next four EPL matches. If the Gunners grab all 12 available points, it will make for a very interesting conclusion to the season.
