Seattle Sounders Getting Another New Kit?

It appears that for the 2015 MLS season, the Seattle Sounders will once again have new kits. This will be at least the third straight year that the team and Adidas have rolled out another uniform. These last few years have seen some very interesting kits.

First things first, let us take a look at the rumored kit that will be making an appearance for the Sounders this year. Footy Headlines leaked the possible kit earlier Friday. In the past, Footy Headlines have been accurate on the new kits that other MLS clubs have released.

As you can see, it appears that this kit will have pinstripes. I am generally not a big fan of pinstripes, but it is something that could grow on me in the near future. However, I am not found of the navy or black strip across the bottom and on the sleeves.

Going into the 2014 season, there were rumors of a new third kit for the Sounders. In the past the Sounders have went extreme in their color for their third kits. In the early days of the clubs existence, they went with Electric Yellow and prior to the 2012 season they went with Super Cyan. As you can see in the photos below, they are very bright and almost painful to the eye. The Sounders primarily wear their third kits for US Open Cup, CONCACAF and international friendly matches. Occasionally they will wear them when they face the Timbers on the road.

A lot of fans were truly hoping that for the club’s 40th anniversary, they would break out an all-white version. Sadly for those fans, it was not to be. Adidas and the Sounders came out with “Pitch Black” kits. In all honesty, this is one of my favorite kits to date. I’m sure you have seen them by now but if not, take a look.

Personally I really enjoyed the kit that was released prior to the 2013 MLS season. It had the space needle incorporated into the design on the right side and looked very clean. Also prior to the 2013 season, the club also unveiled a new shale kit that had a three color strip going down the left side.

Some fans are still hoping to see an all-white kit. Personally, I would only want to see an all-white kit if it was done extremely well. I have heard rumors that there is a possibility the pitch black kits will become secondary kits and the club will be getting another third kit. Maybe that is when they will introduce an all-white kit for their fans.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? IF THIS IS THE NEW KIT, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT? ARE YOU TIRED OF THE CLUB GETTING NEW KITS EVERY OTHER YEAR?
