As we enter the final stretch of what has undoubtedly been one of the greatest Premier League seasons ever, it feels only natural to look back on seasons past for comparison. The truth is, comparisons are difficult to locate.

But it is interesting to recall some of the great teams from years gone by, and wonder how Leicester might stack up against them.
Some were dynasties like Ferguson’s great Manchester United teams; others experienced flash-in-the-pan success like Blackburn’s title-winning team of 1994-95, and the rarest of all were those – like Leicester – who defied their lowly expectations to stamp their authority on the league. No matter which category they fall into, all made an indelible mark on England’s top flight, and helped to craft it into the most watched league in world football.
