Christmas is less than a week away, so in the spirit of the festive holiday, we at Playing for 90 thought it would be fun to wrap five presents for the fan bases of different clubs.  This is, of course, the 5 Christmas gifts for Everton fans.

Everton has undergone an extremely frustrating last 1 1/2 with the inconsistent play under former manager Roberto Martinez and now the poor run of form under current manager Ronald Koeman.

Despite the supposed infusion of cash by new ownership Farhad Moshiri, the squad is continually one injury or suspension away from disaster.  It is high time that Everton fans get some good news, especially after that difficult Merseyside Derby and Christmas is the perfect vehicle for that good news.

These next five gifts are what I, as an Everton fan myself would want if I had the pick.  Some wishes are in the form of shiny new signings, but I believe much of what Everton needs can be found from what they already have, perhaps deep down.

I also attempted to keep these wishes in the realm of reality because of course, we would all want to spend 100 million pounds on a Paul Pogba to pair with Idrissa Gueye, but all Everton fans know that isn’t realistic.  At best, Everton fans can expect the club to spend 20 million pounds and sadly I’m not even expecting that much.

With that in mind, I’ll kick let Everton fans unwrap their deserved gifts for 2017.
