Chelsea transfer rumors: Blues are now being linked with a possible move for Tottenham’s right-back Kyle Walker amid speculation he’s leaving.

Chelsea transfer rumors: Tottenham’s Kyle Walker has had an indifferent second half of the season for Spurs after failing to start in several matches. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino elected to play Kieran Trippier instead in what was seen as a strange move for most.

This has resulted in a barrage of speculation and rumors suggesting Walker has fallen out with his manager.

The 26-year-old right back is now wanted by the Blues according to The Sun. Usually I tend to ignore these types of stores from the Sun (no disrespect to them) but honestly it makes sense.

If Spurs Boss Pochettino has really fallen out with the young English defender then it’s hardly wise to keep hold of an unhappy player who could unsettle the dressing room.

Chelsea need a good starting right-back who’s actually good at defending. While Moses has admittedly done a good job there, his defensive abilities are still questionable.

Conte’s 3-4-3 system at Chelsea would allow Kyle Walker to get forward even more with his lightning quick runs while he would be covered by N’Golo Kante.

Chelsea literally have no other available right-backs in the first team apart from the dynamic Cesar Azpilicueta. With Champions League football incoming, the Blues squad desperately need reinforcements  in the wing-back area.

The only snag is that Walker plays for Tottenham. Yeah, you know, that team that narrowly missed out on winning the Premier League title due to Chelsea’s rampant winning form. I’m not too sure if Spurs would be very happy to sell him to their direct rivals- especially another London club.

So while its nice to think of Walker potentially playing down the right flank for the Blues, it’s just not going to happen (even though it makes sense from a Blues supporter’s perspective).

But, Tottenham will be paying off their new stadium for the next few years and it seems as though money is kind of tight around there. If Abramovich puts up a £50m figure I’d suspect they might let him go- even to a rival club.

According to widespread reports, chairman Daniel Levy would let him go for around that figure.

Keep an eye on this as the story develops.
