Here is a breakdown of how some players that are in the USA National Team player pool that ply their trade outside the US. Please note that players that are out injured or who did not play at all are not included below:

English Premier League

Zak Whitbread (Def, Norwich City)

Zak returned for his first match in almost 3 months for Norwich City due to injuries. Based on the highlights I reviews, Zak looked dangerous on set pieces but was guilty for one of the goals scored Newcastle. Zak played 82 mins in Norwich’s win

4 – 2 over Newcastle.

Clint Dempsey ( M, Fulham)

It was a rough day for Clint. He suffered an own goal when Sweansea City’s Sinclair’s shot was blocked by Clint but he was only able to get part of it which resulted in the ball going in the net. To top it off, Clint had a chance a redemption in the 87th minute when he was allowed to take a penalty kick. Unfortunately, Swansea’s keeper was able to make the save.
