World Cup Qualifying Roster Tweet Reaction
By Doug Smith
Of course the twittersphere went crazy when the 24-man roster was released by Jurgen Klinsmann for the remaining qualifiers against Antigua and Barbuda and Guatemala. The pot had been stirred early when the news of Jozy Altidore being left off spread through social media. Initial reaction is always the best when surfing social media sites and Monday was no exception. Here is a look at some of our favorite tweets regarding the roster.
Obviously the Altidore exclusion was the big topic all day and still seems to be since the roster was released. Some were more subtle in their reaction than others.

A minority of the reaction seemed to agree with coach Klinsmann’s decision to leave Altidore off the roster and send him a message. Klinsmann did say he had spoke to Altidore days before the roster release.
Others agree with our initial reaction in that Chris Wondolowski deserved a call up. He is on standby should anything happen to one of the players and we have learned more about Alan Gordon’s call being for his physical and tactical ability to hold the ball and bring attacking midfielders in.
As always, Kyle Beckerman gets plenty of negative tweets sent his way. Search his last name. You will find plenty.
Speaking of tactics, I am sure this next tweet is saying what a lot of fans are thinking. They are hoping for a more attack minded game plan even against a hunkered in Antigua and Barbuda.
The debates will rage on, but Friday will be here before we know it. Then the fun begins. This guy knows.
