#4 – Diego Costa (Chelsea) – I know what you are thinking.  How the heck is Costa all the way back at #4?  And well, you have a good point.  He has been absolutely superb for the title favorites.  When he has a chance to score, he almost always does.  He has nine goals in his first seven EPL matches.   He has nine goals on only 19 shots.  So like I said, if he has a chance to score, you can usually put your money on a goal.

  • He falls back to #4 on this list because other than scoring goals, he has not done much else.   Yes he has had a brace and a hat trick already in the young season, he has scored with his head, right foot and left foot, and maybe that should be enough.  After all, soccer is about scoring goals and he certainly is doing that.

He is doing everything a striker should be doing.  But he has failed to create many chances for his team mates and does not often assist in defense or in the midfield.  He is a goal scorer.  And he is a great one.
