#2 – Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) – Now I know this list is for the best players who are new to the EPL, and I know that Fabregas has played in the EPL before, so he is not brand new, but he is new enough.  After spending three seasons back with his youth team Barcelona, Fabregas is back in London, but this time wearing blue.

  • Before the season, many worried that with Oscar and Eden Hazard, two creative midfielders, already on Chelsea’s roster, it didn’t make a lot of sense to bring in someone like Cesc Fabregas.  But to everyone who said he wouldn’t be a good fit… all I can say is… WRONG!

Fabregas does a little bit of everything.  And I mean everything. He will be tracking back on a defender one minute and the next he will be creating opportunities up front.  He can attack the opposition’s defense from all areas.  He can beat a defender down the wing and send a cross into the box or he can attack a defender head on and work his way around them using the passing skills you could only learn in Barcelona’s youth academy.

Chelsea not only appears to be the title favorites, but it actually looks possible that they finish this season without a loss.  Whoa, whoa, whoa, it is way too early to be talking about something like that.  But let’s face it, Chelsea almost looks unbeatable and Fabregas is one of, if not the greatest reason why.
