John Guidetti is taking the Scottish Soccer scene by storm. He is a young Swede who plays on loan for Celtic, but his parent team is the English Champions, Manchester City. Even though he is a youngster, still only 22 years of age, he has not yet been able to get his footing for Manchester City. Since joining the club, Guidetti has been sent out on loan 4 times before coming to Celtic.

After playing at IF Brommapojkarna, Burnley, Feyenoord, and Stoke City, Guidetti seems to have found him home in Glasgow playing for the champions, Celtic FC. He has struggled to produce any sort of form at his previous clubs, only having one good scoring season, a season when he put up 20 goals in 23 games for Feyenoord. On top of that, he has yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club, Manchester City.

Ronny Deila is in his first season under the helm of Celtic FC, taking over for the departed Neil Lennon, a Celtic legend himself. Deila is not having the greatest of starts for his Celtic career, with the team sitting in 4th place, 3 points behind the leaders Hamilton Academical, with a game in hand.

More from Scottish Premiere League

Also under Deila, Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League in the qualifying stages and were sent down to the Euro League. Right now, Celtic is doing very well in the Euro League, sitting tied for first in their group with 7 points through 3 games, and have a great chance of moving on to the Round of 16. Deila is looking forward to the future and loves Guidetti’s attitude of wanting to win all 4 trophies, and also wants to sign him full time off of Manchester City come the January transfer window.

Guidetti coming to Celtic full time will help his career immensely. If he were to come to Celtic, he would undoubtedly get a lot of playing time, and would constantly be a part of the first team. While being a part of the first team, he would constantly get more playing minutes that he would if he was down the pecking order back at Manchester City.

While Manchester City is in a much more respectable league than Celtic is, Celtic has a chance to help Scotland raise their UEFA ranking, and get the league more notice. Right now, Guidetti is making himself a household name at Celtic, putting the ball in the back of the net 5 times in 7 games. There are more reasons for him to stay here at Celtic, and he said that he loves it in Glasgow, so it seems to be a match made in heaven.

If Deila is able to convince Manchester City to let go of their young starlet, it would help both Guidetti and Celtic. Guidetti would get more playing time and if he continues his amazing form, he will help Celtic get back on top of the league table. While helping Celtic get back on top in Scotland, he also has the chance to get this team far in the Euro League, thus gaining Celtic more respect around the world, and hopefully getting the SPFL back to where it used to be by raising their UEFA standings. Guidetti at Celtic is a perfect move.
