3. NY Red Bulls Blow Key Offensive Chances
In a game where many scoring chances don’t always come, the NY Red Bulls screwed up big time offensively. Tim Cahill, Thierry Henry, and Bradley Wright-Phillips all missed clear scoring opportunities.

A few of these chances came within six yards of the goal. It wasn’t that they barely missed the net. However, they sailed multiple balls way over the goal and into the stands. Cahill, Henry, and Wright-Phillips are all talented.
Moving forward in the playoffs, the NY Red Bulls won’t have a chance against DC United. DC’s defense has become a strong, cohesive unit this season. At the same time, DC United’s offense is filled with dangerous and talented players like Sporting KC. They will take advantage of a Red Bulls team especially when they fail to score from six yards out on an open goal.
New York was given many gifts today by Sporting KC. The scoreline should have been bigger than 2-1, but it wasn’t because the Red Bulls’ big three failed to step up more times than not. They are lucky to squeak by with a 2-1 win and finally finished accurately as the game’s waning moments game.
