O’Neill is another bright star heralding from the American Youth ranks who seems destined for international glory.  But Jurgen Klinsmann is going to have to move quickly with this dual-national player.

Already being recruited by Irish legend Robbie Keane, and the son of Gaelic Football legend Colm O’Neill, Shane’s connections to his parent country are stronger than your average dual citizen. Klinsmann’s been notoriously slow-moving with young dual nationals not named Julian Green, losing Steven Beitashour and AJ DeLaGarza to countries more willing to invest in young MLS products.
