The 2014 MLS Cup Final is being played on Sunday December 7th at 3:00pm EST in Carson, CA. This will be Landon Donovan’s last game ever as a professional athlete. Donovan will be looking to leave the sport he loves so dearly as a champion. Not many professional athletes get to go out on top. This will be Donovan’s fifth MLS Cup final as a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy. Overall this is his 7th appearance and he will be looking to win his 6th MLS Cup.
The Galaxy is looking to be the first MLS club to win five MLS Cup’s. I’d be hard pressed to not say that the Galaxy is one of the best clubs in the entire league. They will be looking to win their 3rd MLS cup in the last four years.

The New England Revolution is heading to their 5th MLS Cup final. The Revolutions trips to MLS Cup finals have not been as fruitful as the Galaxy. The Revs have never won an MLS Cup Final and this will be their first trip to the final since 2007. The Revs will have their hands full with the three head monster that is the Galaxy’s attack– Donovan, Gyasi Zardes and MLS MVP Robbie Keane.
The Galaxy will also have their hands full with the Revolutions mid-field duo of MVP finalist Lee Nguyen and Jermaine Jones. This should be a very back and forth match and I expect it to be a lot closer than most.
