Charlie Davies, New England Revolution

Position: Striker

Charlie Davies was at the end of two Chis Tierney passes to give New England the push necessary to propel the Revolution past conference arch rivals the New York Red Bulls.  When you add that to the two goals he scored versus Columbus in the first leg of the first round, it brings his playoff total to four.  One per game, essentially.

Davies is often an unsung hero for New England, overshadowed by some of the other bigger, more dynamic names on the teams.  But make no mistake, he is as effective as he was before the car accident he suffered 4 years ago that kept him out of the World Cup and nearly ended his career.  But, much like the Revolution as a whole, Charlie Davies looks revitalized.  Fitting.
