Lee Nguyen, New England Revolution

Position: Attacking Mid

Nguyen has garnered a lot of attention (both foreign and domestic) for his performance for the Revs this season.  The American midfielder has experienced a bit of a career second-wind this season. He was once known as one of America’s brightest stars before falling off the radar to go play in Vietnam.

His 18 goals this season were one of MLS’s best, and he had five assists on top of that. Nguyen’s performances in August were vital to the turnaround of New England as a soccer club; taking one of the worst clubs, and turning them into one of he best. Lee’s presence in the midfield is one that is not easy to recreate, and his scoring prowess and positioning has caught the eye of not only Jurgen Klinsmann of the US Men’s National Team, but also English clubs like Fulham and Southampton.
