5. Victor Wanyama, Southampton

In the Summer of 2013, after much speculation of a transfer to the Premier League, Wanyama moved from famed Scottish club Celtic to Southampton. Wanyama became the first Kenyan to join the Premier League and he came in with the proper humble, but confident, attitude. When the move materialized, Wanyama said:

"“Southampton is a good club and it has good players, so I want to train hard and work hard to be part of the starting XI. We’ll see where that will take me.”"

Boy has it taken him far. After acclimating himself to the league in the 2013-14 season, Wanyama has come out clicking on all cylinders for a surprising Southampton team this season. He was named African player of the month in September and his speed and power have become a problem for opposing forwards. He’s even chipped in offensively with 3 goals.
