4. Mile Jedinak, Crystal Palace

The 30-year-old Aussie joined Crystal Palace in 2011 and has grown into a powerful skipper for the club. Per WhoScored.com, Jedinak contributes about 4 tackles and 3.5 clearances a match.  Those impressive numbers, mixed with 5 goals and 1 assist, show his leadership quality and ability to thwart attacks. While most of his goals come off penalty kicks, he’s shown the propensity to start the Palace attack from the back.

If it weren’t for his age or standing with club, Jedinak would be heavily linked to bigger sides. As it stands, he may be the most under appreciated defensive midfielder in the EPL. If you get a chance to watch Crystal Palace one of these weekends, and I understand why many of us can’t or won’t, do keep an eye on Palace’s rock in the midfield.
