In what has been a very disappointing season for Liverpool so far, Raheem Sterling has been one of the few bright spots. Liverpool has had their troubles up front this season with the departure of Luiz Suarez over the summer. Daniel Sturridge has had a tough time staying healthy and the combo of Rickie Lambert and Mario Baltotelli have not lived up to their expectations.
Head coach, Brendan Rodgers, has resorted to using Raheem Sterling up front as the striker in trying to find some goal scoring productions and Sterling has done relatively well considering this is not his preferred or most effective position. With Liverpool in need of goals and trying to correct a dismal season so far, locking Raheem Sterling up long-term was high on their priority list.
