Chicago Fire Schedule Released; Dates to Circle on the Calendar

Wednesday, July 15 vs. Columbus Crew SC

In what will be the 2nd of 3 meetings, and first of an exciting back-to-back, between the Fire and “That Yellow (explicit) Team”, Chicago hopes that the Crew’s only trip to Toyota Park is a nightmare.

Columbus got the best of the Fire in the regular season in 2014 with a home win in Columbus and a draw at Toyota Park, but Chicago did knock the Crew out of the US Open Cup. It should be another fun season of clashes between these bitter rivals, with this particular date being the one Fire fans need to make!

Saturday, July 25 vs. New England Revolution

Many of us Fire fans are still bitter about the “Blind Draw” that saw Jermaine Jones become a linchpin in the Revs midfield. The clubs were in close proximity to each other in the table when the “Blind Draw” took place, and they went in exactly opposite directions after it. As a matter of fact, New England made it all the way to MLS Cup 2014 before coming up short against Robbie Keane and the LA Galaxy.

The teams split the season series in 2014 with each team winning a match and playing to a draw in a third match. It will be the first time the Revolution visit Toyota Park with Jermaine Jones on their side. The “Blind Draw” incident has re-intensified the rivalry between the sides. It will be interesting to see how the fans react towards Jones; we already know how they will react to Lee Nguyen…
