USWNT Pre-World Cup Schedule Released
The United States Women’s National Team has announced its schedule in the run-up to the 2015 Women’s World Cup. Alongside their two games in Europe this month and the Algarve Cup in March, the USWNT will play four home friendlies in April and March.
The USWNT kicks off their 2015 Schedule February 8 against France at the Stade du Moustoir in Lorient. They head over Milton Keynes for a friendly against England on February 13. These matches will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Fox Sports 1, respectively.

The Algarve Cup in Portugal will take place from March 4- March 11. The USWNT will take on Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland in the group stage.
The home stretch of the schedule begins April 4 against New Zealand in St. Louis. The game will take place at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals.
In May, USWNT will play three friendlies. The new Avaya Stadium in San Jose will be the venue fot the May 10 friendly against Ireland. Mexico will take on the USWNT at the Stubhub Center in Carson, CA one week later. Both of these matches will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

The last send-off game will take place at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ on May 30. The match will be broadcast on ESPN.
Despite a pretty strong schedule in early 2015, it’s disappointing that the USWNT will not play a top 15 ranked team in the final two months before the World Cup. As important as it is to get competition prior to the tournament, playing four games against teams that you’ve outscored 43-3 in the last ten matches since 2012 will not do great deals for preparation.
