This being his fifth year in MLS, it’s sometimes easy to forget that the Chattanooga-born Jack McInerney is merely 22 years old.  It’s also easy to forget how exciting he was for Philadelphia before being traded to Montreal for Andrew Wenger.  He scored 7 goals in MLS for the Impact, a tough task for anyone playing alongside goalscoring machine Marco Di Vaio.  It’s especially tough when you play on a team as bad as Montreal was last year.  But despite the Impact’s last place finish in the East, McInerney and co. managed to win the Canadian Championship, earning the Quebec-based club a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League.  McInerney scored three times, taking home the tournament’s Golden Boot.  Montreal’s roster is looking much improved this year, and no one may benefit more from that than Jack.
