4.) Quincy Amarikwa (Chicago Fire 1-0 Queens Park Rangers)

After a 2014 Season that Chicago would simply like to pretend never happened, the Fire got their first result of the calendar year in a friendly vs. QPR.  The Fire, who have also been overseas for preseason training, tied English League Championship side Norwich City 0-0 week ago in a game that felt all too familiar to the Men in Red.  Things changed quickly for the Fire in their next friendly vs.  Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.  The game was mostly a deadlock with a couple scary chances coming from both sides throughout.  However, the deadlock was broken via terrific buildup play by the Chicago midfield and even better finishing by Quincy.

Shaun Maloney, the former Wigan Athletic man, delivered a pinpoint pass to sophomore Harry Shipp who then threaded the needle to the Quincy, flashing near post.  Amarikwa’s first touch took him past QPR backup keeper Alex McCarthy, and his second introduced the ball to the back of the net for the first and only score of the game.
