5. Hull City Host QPR in a Relegation 6-Pointer
Even if the top teams aren’t facing off, the stakes can be high. This match up is a fantastic example as Hull City welcome Queens Park Rangers to the KC in Hull. Both teams sit just above the relegation line; QPR is in 17th with 22 points (just clear of Villa on goal differential), while Hull sit in 16th place with 23 points (1 point clear of 18th place Villa).
Additionally, both sides came up with enormous victories last week. Hull City, on the very same ground they will play this match, shut Aston Villa out 2-0 in what turned out to be former Villa manager Paul Lambert’s last stand. QPR upended Sunderland in the northeast to capture their first road points of this season. It only took until February and the 12th road fixture, but better late than never.

Now, the West London club look to make winning on the road a trend against the Tigers. The R’s are boosted by the return from injury of star striker Charlie Austin, who is expected to be inserted straight into the lineup. QPR caretaker, or temporary manager for now, Chris Ramsey stated the importance of this match and how the Rangers could come away victorious in his press conference:
"“Hull is a big game for us but we just approach it in the same way we did last week at Sunderland and hopefully it will come together the same way it did. We will play on the front foot because we need to gain points as quickly as possible. That first away win at Sunderland was great. The players will have belief now – and they should have belief because we have great talent – and another away win would boost the squad even more.”"

Midfield destroyer Mohamed Diame was expected to make a return for this match. Unfortunately for the Tigers, he suffered a knock to his knee in training and will not make his 2015 debut. Despite winning their last home match, Hull City have only won 3 of their past 14 EPL home matches and will need to dig deep.
While 3 of the past 4 matches between the sides have finished in draws, and it may be the case again here, a victory for either side can really be a propellant to safety. Momentum is an incredible thing and this winnable match for both sides can provide just that for the stretch run of the season.
