Juventus vs Dortmund: 5 Players To Watch
I would be even more critical of myself if I didn’t rank Andrea Pirlo in the key players to watch list. He is the man that makes the Zebras roam the pitch like one beautiful and in-sync herd. It has proven very effective when team’s mark “il Maestro”. Yet, you could count on less than one hand the amount of teams that have successfully completed this tall-task. At 36, Pirlo can still invent magic on the pitch better than David Blaine can on stage. He has gone on record to say that he wants one more Champions League before he retires and this might be his last toss in the hat to bring that trophy home for the third time.
Will Pirlo struggle with the pace of the BVB midfield? It’s very probable, but we would all be a bit rash if we believed this legend of the game would be incapable of finding his way to assert himself. The one problem for BVB should they choose to mark Pirlo or aggressively pressure him then they will be leaving themselves very vulnerable to a rested Vidal and an in-form Paul Pogba.
This is what makes Andrea Pirlo an invaluable asset to any lineup. Milan have yet to recover from his departure and Juventus have learned to really bask in the riches ever since. BVB are known for their fast tempo and Pirlo will aim to slow the game down and play chess as he always does.
