Juventus vs Dortmund: 5 Players To Watch
Carlos Tevez will need to take the monkey not only off of his back, but the backs of the entire Juventus Football Club. The final third in the attacking half has haunted Juventus in Europe and Tevez was brought in to help make that a problem of the past. Except there is one major hurdle and that obstacle is Tevez’ struggle with scoring in Europe ever since his days with Manchester United. Should Hummels have been ruled out then it would have been a certainty that Klopp would have fielded Subotic and Sokratis together at the heart of the BVB defense. That would have played a major advantage to Tevez and Co. to out-finesse a flat-footed duo. Instead, Hummels will be in the lineup along with Subotic and they have been the heart of the defense for BVB.
Tevez and Morata will have their hands full, but their pace and unpredictability will be a significant factor should they directly attack the heart of the Dortmund defense. Why? Because they will force Hummels and Subotic to contract and that will help unleash Lichsteiner or Marchisio into the attacking third and if the wings get the play for Juventus it will change the shape of the Dortmund back-line and force Klopp’s hand early. Tevez needs to continue his scintillating form this season into this game more than ever. Juventus have preached they don’t want to surrender a goal, but the key result is a win and the lads understand that.
