Houston Dash Release Updated Preseason Roster

The Houston Dash have announced their updated preseason roster, as the team continues to practice this week at Houston Sports Park. The Dash have the potential to put one of the more talented sides on the field this year, however their midfield will be greatly hampered by absences due to the World Cup.

One of the absences will be number one overall pick Morgan Brian (above) from the University of Virginia. Brian has looked more and more comfortable becoming one of the key young cogs in Head Coach Jill Ellis’ USWNT attack. As I’ve stated before, once the World Cup ends and Brian and other key personnel return to Houston, the Dash will have the best group of middies in the NWSL. Have a seasoned Brian to go along with the likes of Carli Lloyd, Brittany Bock and Ashley Nick.

In regards to roster moves, after a week of training with Dash, Lauren Sesselmann has joined Erin McLeod, Allysha Chapman and the Canada Women’s National Team following their performance at the Cyprus Cup. U.S. Women’s National Team players Carli Lloyd, Meghan Klingenberg and Morgan Brian have also remained with the national team after their victory at the Algarve Cup.Irish international forward Stephanie Roche is expected to join Dash preseason training later this week after her trip to the White House in Washington, D.C. Roche has been invited to the St Patrick’s Day party at the White House on Tuesday evening where President Obama will host Taoiseach Enda Kenny and other Irish guests for the annual shamrock-giving ceremony. She is brimming with enthusiasm about the opportunities in the United States that her two-year contract with Houston brings along with the travel to New York, Washington, Boston and Chicago in a season.
