The red-hot Vancouver Whitecaps look to extend their three-game winning streak as they host reigning MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy. LA is coming off a loss to DC United, but they were missing two key members in Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes to international call-ups.

For Saturday’s game, keep an eye on both teams. The Galaxy will be without Jose Villarreal as he was left off for precautionary measures with a hamstring injury. This injury most have happened after the LA Galaxy II game on Thursday as they sent Bradford Jamieson IV to play with the USL side. If Jamieson hadn’t played for Galaxy II on Thursday, he most likely would have started tonight. On the other side,  the Whitecaps will be without Gershon Koffie due to a MCL sprain.

Part of the reason the Whitecaps is 3-1 on the season is due to Octavio Rivero who was named MLS Player of the Month for March on Friday for his three goals in four games. Back at BC Place and in front of the Whitecaps fans, don’t be surprised if Rivero adds to his goal scoring tally. On the flip side, Robbie Keane as found his groove early on for the Galaxy. In three games in MLS action, Keane has two goals. Zardes also scored for the Galaxy this year.

Both of their returns to the lineup will be key to the visitors as they look to find their form. The defending champions are 1-1-2 so far on the season. A point tonight is critical to help combat their slow start and it would be great to steal three points on the road. However, the Whitecaps are playing some of the best soccer in the Western Conference and currently sit in second behind a FC Dallas side that has once again gotten off to a fast start.

From the start, this game should be fast-paced with two offensive minded teams facing off. Both sides have found the net often this year and the goals should flow tonight with players like Keane, Zardes, and Rivero on the field. Jaime Pinedo will do his part to keep Rivero off the scoring sheet tonight and come away with a clean sheet for the Galaxy. However, don’t expect that as the Whitecaps have scored at least one goal in each of their four games this year.
