USMNT v Mexico Live Stream: Preview and Prediction

USMNT and Mexico will battle for the 64th time on Wednesday. It’s a USMNT squad that doesn’t feature all their top stars at Jozy Altidore is suspended for his red card against Switzerland and Clint Dempsey is still recovering from his injury. In addition, the date falls on a non-FIFA date, so the team is heavy with MLS squads who are just beginning their club seasons rather than European sides and other leagues who are wrapping up their season.

The USMNT-Mexico game will still be a chippy, heated affair no matter who puts on their respective national team jersey. With the game taking place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX, the game has an added historical touch to it. These games get bloody, physical, and some right down right dirty just like the Battle of the Alamo did. (Granted there’s been no casualties during USA-Mexico games, but the point is still valid) In addition, just like they say “remember the Alamo”, USMNT fans are always remembering “Dos A Cero” where the USMNT defeat Mexico by the popular scoreline of 2-0.

This game is great preparation for the 2015 Gold Cup and CONCACAF Qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. Both sides continually challenge each other and are always fighting to be the no. 1 in the CONCACAF, which is currently held by Costa Rica based on their 2014 World Cup form and current FIFA rankings.

Wednesday’s friendly between USMNT-Mexico has had San Antonio buzzing all week as Mexico and USMNT fans have flocked to the historic US town. The fans within San Antonio have a chance to show why the San Antonio Scorpions deserve to become a MLS expansion sides. It appears no matter who is playing and where in the city’s various infrastructures, the fans flock to the games.

While Mexico used to dominate the USMNT, the Americans seem to have the advantage currently.

The 64th game could be filled with controversy as the Almodome’s grass isn’t in the best condition. It normally has turf, but US Soccer had it pulled up in order to put down grass on top of hard cement. This game’s fast-paced, chippy nature could expose the poor nature of the field even more. Luckily, the Mexican soccer federation considered pulling out of the contest, but the field was found to be in playable condition.

Below you can check out information how to tune into tonight’s match. If you are an AT&T U-Verse customer, the game will not be aired as AT&T and Fox Sports are currently at a stand still with coming to a carriage deal.
