The Premier League Game of Thrones
By Ryan Wrenn
Tony Pulis – West Brom
Projected Finish: 13th
How’d he do?
Pulis’ midseason appointment fits his skillset. His long term strategy at Stoke City proved too expensive, but his saving of Crystal Palace last season was remarkable. West Brom’s owners were hoping for a similar success this season and likely have been rewarded. Pulis’ teams might not play the most attractive soccer, but they get the job done.
Season Highlight: Pulis might consider last weekend’s 2-0 win over his former club Crystal Palace his best win so far.
Season Lowlight: The two consecutive losses in the Premier League and FA Cup to Sherwood’s Villa.
Future?
Probably In. If he can pull off a second consecutive rescue mission, Pulis’ job should be safe. How much investment he demands from West Brom’s financiers this summer might again be the determining factor if he stays or goes.
