The Premier League Game of Thrones
By Ryan Wrenn
Sean Dyche – Burnley
Projected Finish: 20th
How’d he do?
Dyche led Burnley to promotion in 2013/14 in what was his first full season in charge of the club. Unfortunately, Burnley have more or less lived up to expectations this season. Though he’s got a roster featuring several talented players, highlighted by striker Danny Ings, he was not able to put up a meaningful fight in the top tier. This weekend’s loss against fellow relegation candidates Leicester City will go a low way in determining his fate.
Season Highlight: Danny Ings.
Season Lowlight: Everyone else.
Future?
Possibly In. Dyche’s promotion campaign last season showed that he has the chops to keep Burnley competitive. Retaining some of this season’s standpoint players will be key to a promotion campaign, though it’s a foregone conclusion that Ings and likely George Boyd will not stay with the club. The Championship’s cutthroat reputation with underperforming managers will likely keep him on his toes though.
