Sinclair Seals Villa Transfer:

Aston Villa have signed Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old former Swansea player has been on loan at Villa Park since January, scoring three goals in 11 appearances for the FA Cup finalists.

“This is the happiest I have been in a long time,” said Sinclair, who started only three times for Manchester City. I believe that will help me perform better and push on for this great club in the coming years”, said the winger.

Sinclair joined Manchester City in 2012 for £8m, but was sent out on loan to West Brom in 2013.

Cech Considers Man United Move:

While last week here on Playing for 90 we spoke of how Petr Cech was considering his options as afar as Turkey, last night emerged a move to Manchester United would be a distinct possibility.

With David De Gea likely to leave Manchester for Real Madrid in the summer, the goalkeeping vacancy would provide Cech with one last chance at the top.  Chelsea informed the Czech Republic goalkeeper that they will not stand in his way if he wishes to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after losing his starting position to Thibaut Courtois this season.

“Arsenal, United or PSG are all top clubs,” Kolar  (Cech’s agent) said. “And Petr would like to join one of them, definitely. Petr expects that Abramovich, not Mourinho will decide about his future, based on their mutual agreement from last year.”

Wenger Seeks Defensive Midfielder:

Despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin as Arsenal’s leading defensive midfielder this season, Arsene Wenger has admitted he remains in the market for a player to compete for the position with the young Frenchman.

Wenger paid tribute to Coquelin while being questions over the upcoming transfer window. “The world has changed,” Wenger said. “The appreciation today of the quality of a player is just down to the money you spend. If we had bought Coquelin at Christmas for £40m, everyone would say, ‘What a signing.’ I am sorry he didn’t cost any money. He is still a good player.”

Coquelin has featured 28 times for Arsenal this season, having returned from loan at Charlton Athletic in January.
