Arsenal player ratings: Alexis Sanchez and Per Mertesacker shine in FA Cup Final

Santi Cazorla shows time after time that he is the heart, engine, and metronome of Arsenal’s offense, and he once again led the team in touches and passes. As always, his passing was accurate and incisive, his movement away from the ball sublime, and it’s just so difficult to take the ball off of him. He produced a fantastic cross to assist Mertesacker’s third goal, and that put the game out of reach.

It’s hard to praise Cazorla enough for what he’s done this season, as he’s been one of the best players in the Premier League and one of Arsenal’s three most important players. He’s been all over the pitch for the Gunners this year, and we were able to witness a truly splendid performance in the middle of the park from a man who, per WhoScored.com, had possession 10.9% of the time.
