Brazil RB Fabinho, Monaco (21)

Dani Alves was left out of Brazil’s 30-man squad for Copa America 2015, but they still have one of the world’s most renowned right backs in FC Porto’s Danilo, who is locked in as the team’s starter. However, they also have a talented, young RB behind him in Monaco’s Fabinho, and it will be interesting to see if the player who was once loaned to Real Madrid when he played for the Primeira League’s Rio Ave.

Fabinho was a rather underrated player before Monaco scooped him up, as he is both strong as an attacker and defender. He can keep an attack moving by getting up field and accurately passing the ball to teammates, and he’s also assertive in the air at 1.88 meters. Not only was he one of the best defenders in the Ligue 1, but he also showed up well in the Champions League by sending plenty of crosses into the box and reading the game well defensively.

If he is able to see the field in the Copa America, then I think this is a guy who could really impress some people on the international stage. He’s a consistent, well-rounded fullback who defends the position as well as anybody and played a key role for a team that made a nice Champions League run into the quarterfinals.
