The 27-year-old now faces increased competition for a place in the team as the club near a deal for Barcelona star Pedro. The ex-Shakhtar winger has been offered to Bayern and PSG, and while both could both be interested in snapping him up, the latter may struggle to do so due to their large number of non-EU players already on the books at the Parc des Princes.
While Willian has established himself as a hard-working member of Jose Mourinho’s squad, he has struggled for goals in English football, and could be replaced by Pedro’s increased attacking threat.
Columbia winger Juan Cuadrado wanted by Juventus
Marca report that Cuadrado is likely to leave Chelsea before the transfer window closes on 31st August. The winger impressed at the World Cup last summer but since joining Chelsea has struggled to impose himself.
The Colombian was Chelsea’s biggest signing during the winter transfer window. The idea was for Cuadrado to replace André Schürrle – who was packing his bags to head to Wolfsburg – and to fight for a place with Oscar and Willian. He has never managed that. He has not even come close.
He has managed just four starts in 21 games for Chelsea. Not even his versatility has helped him to find a slot in the team. The imminent arrival of Pedro at Chelsea will confirm something which Cuadrado already knows: he does not have a place in the current Chelsea team. The Spain international’s signing may well precipitate the departure of the Colombian.
Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic is on the verge of joining Sporting Gijon on a season-long loan
According to his agent, The Croatian international is set to stay in Spain on loan with Sporting.
Halilovic has been linked with a loan move away from the Nou Camp in order for more first team opportunites, with a number of clubs from the Premier League and the Bundesliga thought to be interested.
“The player has already decided,” he told Cadena Cope. “In principle, it is quite clear, though in football if the deal has not signed you never know. But there is an agreement between all parties and he will play there this year.
“He will sign there unless there is a serious problem, but I do not see where there could be a problem. On Friday we will sign, it cannot be before then because I’m away and I can’t travel until Friday.”
Borussia Dortmund interested in signing Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj
Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj, according to reports in Germany.
With Jakub Blaszczykowski and Kevin Großkreutz on the verge of moves away from the Westfalenstadion this summer, Sky Deutschland and Sport1 report Dortmund have on the hunt for a possible replacement.
And United’s 20-year-old Belgium international is reportedly on the radar of Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel. It is unclear whether Dortmund want the deal to be a loan or a permanent deal.
Belgium winger Januzaj has started United’s last two games and manager Louis Van Gaal has already said he expects Januzaj to play an important role this season for Manchester United.
De Bruyne offered pay rise
Wolfsburg have offered Kevin De Bruyne double his current salary in a new contract, according to Sport1.
The report suggests the contract length would remain the same, going through to 2019.
However, the Manchester City target’s yearly salary would rise to €10m.
“He will sign there unless there is a serious problem, but I do not see where there could be a problem. On Friday we will sign, it cannot be before then because I’m away and I can’t travel until Friday.”
