Swansea City-D

Garry Monk’s side has way too much quality to be flirting anywhere near the relegation zone. They have really struggled all season to recapture the creativity and offensive verve that defined them last year. You know things have gone south when Gylfi Sigurdsson is criticizing your manager in public. With that being said, I still they’d be insane to fire Monk because of his ability and vested interest in the club.

They need to get back to basics and allow their offensive players a bit more freedom on the ball. Bafetembi Gomis isn’t the world’s best striker but he can do an adequate job with service. Players like Sigurdsson, Jefferson Montero and Jonjo Shelvey should be able to provide him more than enough support.

The reason they haven’t scored goals on the season is mental, it has nothing to do with talent. It doesn’t change the fact that they’ve been miserable for most of the season though and that’s why they get a D on their report card.
