Newcastle-D-

I really had to think long and hard about whether or not I could give Newcastle a passing grade given their struggles so far. Ultimately, I’ve allowed them to scrape by without an F based on two main factors. One, they have managed to stay out of the drop zone by a hair and secondly, I don’t find them to be all that talented to begin with. They two have some interesting players: namely Ayoze Perez and Georginio Wijnaldum, but there isn’t a lot of depth in the squad.

To add insult to injury, their former manager, Alan Pardew and former star, Yohan Cabaye have relocated to Crystal Palace and find themselves well north of Newcastle in the Premier League table. Newcastle did manage to get three points against Bournemouth the last time out, but they did so while being out-shot 20-2. This is not a good football club and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them in the Championship next season.
