Saido Berahino-West Brom

The talented striker almost made a move to Tottenham in the summer window, but to his own disappointment remained at West Brom through the first half of this season. His play has been pretty uninspired this season for West Brom and it is thought that a change in scenery would do the English prospect a world of good.

If reports are to be believed, Chelsea is the club most anxious to give Berahino his much-needed exit. They could certainly use a contrasting alternative to their current striker, Diego Costa, who’s been in poor form himself.

While West Brom’s Chairman held firm to Berahino in the summer, I’d bet he’s willing to make a deal with the Blues now. He has seen diminished returns from his young striker and will be keen to reap some financial benefit from him. I doubt the higher-ups at West Brom really believe that Berahino will ever be the player he was a year ago for them again. His disillusionment with their project has poisoned both his play and relationship with the club.

Chelsea won’t be the only team that goes after the talented Berahino, but they may be the side with the biggest check book. Look for them to come through with a strong opening bid and make quick work of signing the West Brom striker if he truly is their number one target.
