Kevin Mirallas-Everton

I’m a big believer in the talent of Mirallas, but I’m not sure Everton manager Roberto Martinez shares that sentiment. The Belgian attacker has only managed one start on the year for the Toffees and despite Martinez’s words to the contrary, doesn’t seem a big part of their future.

Middle and lower-tier clubs will be happy to jump in and try to get Mirallas on the cheap. West Ham, in particular is quite keen, but Premier League clubs will face quite a bit of competition from other leagues in Europe. They’ve seen the quality Mirallas has regularly displayed playing for Belgium and will want to see if he can recreate that magic on their pitches.

If another Premier League club can get their hands on Mirallas I think it will be an absolute steal. He’s got pace to burn and an astute eye for goal. As I’ve said before, his selfish play can be maddening for some, but I’d always rather coach belief out of a player than try to convince him that he’s good enough. He’s not a perfect player but I don’t have any doubt he could make a big difference if he ends up with the right Premier League club.

Ultimately I think Mirallas is headed abroad and that will be a shame. I will miss his marauding runs and ambitious efforts towards goal in the Premier League.
